Dre Torres, a native of McAllen, TX, is an internationally renowned Tap Dance Artist, Educator, and Choreographer currently based in New York City. With a Bachelor of Science in American Dance Pedagogy from Oklahoma City University (OCU), Dre has established herself as a noticeable figure in the world of tap dance.

Dre's credits span various prestigious productions and platforms. Notably, she serves as the Assistant Tap Choreographer for "Funny Girl" on Broadway and its first National Tour. She also contributed as an Associate Choreographer for "Henry & Me" and was a Choreographer for DanceLabNY’s Tap Project. 

In addition to her work on Broadway, Dre has graced numerous renowned venues and events with her captivating performances. Highlights include appearances in Ayodele Casel’s "Chasing Magic," AfroLatinJazz’s "Worldwinds," NY City Center’s "Fall for Dance," and Little Island’s "Music and Dance Fest." Dre's career has been punctuated by notable collaborations and performances, including engagements with Comedy Central, Radio City, FOX, BBC, PBS, Harvard, and five years as a Principal Dancer with Tapestry Dance Company Directed by Acia Gray.

As a respected educator, Dre has shared her expertise with aspiring dancers worldwide. She has served on the faculty of esteemed institutions such as Broadway Dance Center, Pineapple Dance Studios, and DansEncore International Fest, among others accumulating in the Honorary Dance Teacher Magazine Award!

One of Dre's career milestones includes her co-choreography and performance in "OSCiLLATE" with the London-based tap company Old Kent Road. The production toured prestigious venues globally, including Sadler’s Wells (London), Edinburgh Fringe Fest (Scotland), Latitude Music Fest (Suffolk), and Shanghai’s Xintiandi Fest (Shanghai).

Dre's contributions to the tap dance community have garnered attention from print media, with features in Fest Magazine, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Dance Magazine, London Theater Review, and Vida.

Amidst her remarkable achievements, Dre remains grounded and grateful for the unwavering support of her family, particularly her Mom, Dad, and beloved Mona Bear. She is deeply committed to giving back to her roots in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) and her hometown of McAllen. Each year, Dre returns to share her knowledge and passion for tap dance with the next generation of artists and aspiring tap dancers.
